✨ In Late Summer shortlisted for Dublin and EBRD Literary Awards

We are so pleased to announce that Magdalena Blažević’s tour-de-force of a novel, In Late Summer (tr. Anðelka Raguž), has been shortlisted for both the EBRD Literature Prize and the Dublin Literary Award. 

This is a well-deserved achievement for a powerfully written and beautifully translated novel. Our heart-felt congratulations to Magdalena, Anðelka, and all those shortlisted.

Upcoming Events

Gabriella Zalapì, author of Ilaria, or The Conquest of Disobedience, will be in London at the end of May to celebrate the English publication of her acclaimed French-language novel. On Thursday 21. May, she will be in conversation at Waterstones Islington with her translator, Adriana Hunter, chaired by writer and critic Catherine Taylor.

Winner of the Prix Femina des Lycéens 2024, the Prix Millepages 2024, and the Prix Blù Jean-Marc Roberts 2024, Ilaria is a dreamlike, intimate and deeply moving coming-of-age tale of a girl on a seemingly never ending Italian road trip with her father, learning to navigate the world on her own after her parents’ bitter separation.

After the success of her book tour last May, our award-winning writer and poet Małgorzata Lebda is returning to the UK in May for a series of events with both Linden Editions and Fitzcarraldo Editions. Linden Editions published Lebda’s Voracious in 2025: a lyrical, beautiful account of a young woman caring for her dying grandmother in the company of her grandfather, her friend, and plants and animals – from flies to cats, ants to dogs.

‘An intensely beautiful and unusual book about care and interconnectedness, it has a inherent peace and musicality unlike anything I've read’ — Max Porter, award-winning author of Grief is a Thing with Feathers, on Voracious.

Małgorzata’s latest poetry collection, Mer de Glace — a meditation on running as a form of poetry, and the connection between the body and the natural world — is publishing with Fitzcarraldo on 26. May 2026, translated by Mira Rosenthal.

On Thursday 14. May, Małgorzata will be in conversation with writer, translator and poet Mira Rosenthal and Antonia Lloyd-Jones at St. Anne’s College, Oxford. More details and a link to buy tickets will follow here soon.

On Saturday 16. May, in the British Library at 2pm, Małgorzata Lebda will be in conversation with Zdravka Evtimova and Carolina Pihelgas, in an event chaired by Antonia Lloyd-Jones. ‘Back to Nature’ will tackle the threat of climate change, violence and war in our natural world. This event is part of the European Writers’ Festival, and tickets can be purchased here.
