Katherine Gregor

Translator of La nuit au cœur

Katherine Gregor is a writer and translator.  Before embarking on literary translation, she spent several years working in the theatre as a publicist, copywriter, actors' agent, and briefly running a small London Fringe theatre company. She also taught English as a Foreign Language, working with general English students and corporate clients. Katherine has been translating full-time since 2013, working from Italian and French, with the odd brief project from Russian. Her forty or so translation credits include Marion Brunet's Vanda and Summer of Reckoning (Bitter Lemon Press), Stefania Auci's The Florios of Sicily (HarperVia), Sylvain Tesson's Berezina (Europa Editions), Donato Carrisi's The Whisperer's Game (Little, Brown), Caroline Lamarche's The Memory of the Air (Héloïse Press, winner of the Pen Translates award and PassaPorta grant), as well as Cécile Tlili's Just a Little Dinner (Foundry Press) and Nathacha Appanah's La Mémoire délavée (CARAF Books, English title tbc).  She has also translated Pirandello and Goldoni. When not translating, Katherine writes, walks, takes photographs, practises Qigong, draws cartoons and does a lot of daydreaming. She blogs as ScribeDoll
