Ayfer Tunç

Author of My Mother’s Sleepwalking Nights

Ayfer Tunç was born in Adapazari in 1964 and graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences. She stepped into the literary world in 1989 with her first story collection, Hidden, which was awarded the Yunus Nadi Short Story Prize. Throughout her career, she has written numerous acclaimed stories, novels, and essays. She received the Balkanika Award for her memoir-book My Folks Want To Come Over If You Are Not Busy, the Vedat Türkali Novel Prize for her novel Osman, and the France-Turkey Fernand Rouillon Literary Prize for the French edition of The Aziz Bey Incident. She is also the founder of Yazmak Atölyesi (The Writing Workshop), where literature and cinema classes are held.
